LS3: Beyond Conventional Clarity

With the introduction of JVC’s DLA-V900R projector—capable of stunning 8K/HDR display—I decided it was time to upgrade my HDMI cable. The catalyst was revisiting a collection of 8K programs I had recorded using a Sharp 8K tuner (8S-C00AW1) and its compatible HDD recorder (8R-C80A1). In this setup, the signal is downconverted to 4K for output and then upscaled back to 8K by the V900R.

Even with this conversion, the inherent advantages of native 8K content were undeniable: superior edge definition, remarkable rendering of low-level signals, and exquisite color detail in the finest elements of the image. Witnessing this level of realism firsthand convinced me that an even higher realm of performance was possible, which prompted me to rethink my HDMI cable.

What unfolded before my eyes was astonishingly lifelike. It went far beyond simply looking “beautiful”—there was an overwhelming sense of authenticity and presence, a magnetic pull that made me feel as though I were being drawn directly into the scene. I was genuinely amazed that a single HDMI cable could make such a dramatic difference.
