NAX Represents One Optimal Solution Among Ethernet Cables

The performance I seek from digital cables such as ethernet cables and USB cables is, above all, the ability to transmit data accurately, to keep external high-frequency noise out, and to avoid emitting noise as well. That is why I was interested in the “NAX,” which appeared as the top model in the company’s SHIELDIO series. It uses rugged Telegärtner connectors, widely adopted in the aerospace industry, along with newly developed conductors, special foam insulation, materials such as “Pulshut MU,” and a strictly engineered shielding structure for noise control. NAX incorporates high-performance materials and AIM Electronics’ latest design philosophy.

I used the NAX between network players and switches in listening rooms on both the first and second floors of my home, and the sound quality was excellent. The overall sonic impression can be summarized in three points. First, the sound has great transparency. Second, details across the entire frequency range—from high to low—are coherent, giving a consistent sense of speed. Third, its low-level linearity is outstanding, allowing reverberation, ambience, staging, and the textures of vocals and instruments to feel remarkably lifelike. Without coloring or altering the tonal character, it transmits data with uncompromising accuracy, making it a highly reference-grade cable in my judgment.

Another important point is that noise emitted from the ethernet cable is also suppressed, reducing its influence on adjacent cables and contributing to an increased sense of silence throughout the entire system. With Qobuz’s official launch in Japan, network-related products are gaining attention, and I believe NAX represents one optimal solution among ethernet cables.
