Superior Quality Among Audiophile-Grade NAX

I compared the previous flagship LAN cable, the NA9, with the new flagship, the NAX, specifically in the connection between a NAS and a network hub.

The NA9 already delivers a high S/N ratio, with well-controlled noise and a tightly focused sound image. However, the NAX surpasses it with an even better S/N ratio, and the attack and decay of sounds become noticeably faster. The contours of sound images stand out with greater focus. Distortion also seems to be further reduced, and the effects of the silver-coated conductor—providing a sense of high speed—and the newly adopted Air2 foam insulation material are clearly reflected in the sound.

The NAX offers exceptional gradation and clarity particularly in the mid-to-low frequency range, with no sense of smearing. I felt significant improvement in micro-level localization of instruments, reproduction of reverberation, and dynamic expressiveness. When listening to orchestral music, each section is well separated, and the depth of the soundstage is more natural than with the NA9.

The movement of the singer's mouth is strikingly lifelike, showcasing a meticulous and detailed descriptive quality. The attack of pianos and cymbals is sharp, and the gradation of the decay is delicate. I was able to enjoy a three-dimensional sound without smearing, not just with high-resolution audio sources, but even with CD-quality lossless sources. It is safe to say that this product definitely possesses a superior quality among audiophile-grade high-end ethernet cables.
